Aventon Wins 2026 NBDA Supplier Excellence Award and Distinguished Supplier Recognition
Aventon has been recognized by the National Bicycle Dealers Association (NBDA) with a 2026 Supplier Excellence Award, earning Platinum status and recognition as a Distinguished Supplier.
The award comes from the NBDA’s Supplier Evaluation & Assessment (SEA) program, which gathers anonymous feedback from independent bicycle retailers across the United States. Instead of bringing in judges or a panel, NBDA gathers feedback direction from the shops we work with every day.
For Aventon, that makes the recognition especially meaningful.
Local bike shops play a central role in how many riders first discover electric bikes. They’re the places where people ask their first questions about eBikes, take their first test ride, and return for service and advice long after the purchase. The relationships Aventon builds with those shops help shape the experience riders have with the brand from day one.
This award reflects the strength of those relationships and the shared goal of helping more people ride.
Feedback from the Shops That Know the Bikes Best
The NBDA SEA program asks participating retailers to evaluate suppliers across a wide range of categories related to the dealer experience. These include product quality, marketing support, ordering and fulfillment, warranty service, account support, and dealer programs.
All feedback is collected anonymously by the NBDA, ensuring retailers can share candid input based on their real-world experiences selling and servicing these bikes.
In the 2026 survey, Aventon received strong scores across multiple categories, including:
● 4.76 / 5 for overall eBike quality
● 4.70 / 5 for marketing and brand strength
● 4.55 / 5 for overall partnership experience
The results were based on responses from 33 verified Aventon dealers representing shops across a variety of markets, from urban storefronts to smaller regional retailers.
While every shop has its own customers and riding community, the survey results reflect a consistent theme: when retailers feel supported by the brands they work with, they can better support the riders who walk through their doors.
Named a Distinguished Supplier
Along with earning Platinum status in the SEA program, Aventon was also selected as one of five companies to receive the NBDA Distinguished Supplier Award in 2026.
This distinction is reserved for suppliers that not only achieve high evaluation scores but also demonstrate an ongoing commitment to supporting specialty bicycle retailers.
For Aventon, that support shows up in several ways.
It starts with building eBikes that shops can confidently stand behind. Reliability, serviceability, and thoughtful product design make it easier for retailers to introduce electric bikes to new riders and keep those bikes running smoothly over time.
Support also extends beyond the bikes themselves. Marketing initiatives help drive awareness and bring new riders into stores. Warranty and after-sales service ensure that issues are resolved quickly. Dealer education programs and product training help shop staff stay up to date as new models and technologies evolve.
Together, these efforts help create a smoother experience for both retailers and riders.
What Dealers Had to Say
Dealer feedback collected through the SEA program highlighted several areas where Aventon continues to stand out.
Retailers frequently cited product quality and value as major strengths. Many noting that Aventon bikes are dependable, easy to service, and competitive within the fast-growing eBike category.
Dealers also noted Aventon’s growing visibility among riders. Many customers arrive at their local shop already curious about the brand, creating an easy starting point for conversations about which bike fits their riding style, commute, or weekend adventures.
Programs like dealer education events and product training were also mentioned as helpful tools, allowing shop staff to better understand new models and confidently guide riders through their options.
For many retailers, that combination of strong product and strong support helps create a positive experience not just for the shop, but for the rider as well.
The Role of Local Bike Shops
Independent bike shops are a critical part of the cycling ecosystem.
They provide hands-on expertise that riders can’t always get online. Whether someone is choosing their first eBike, dialing in the fit on a new commuter, or bringing a well-loved bike in for service, local shops offer guidance and support that keeps people riding.
For Aventon, working closely with those retailers is an important part of making electric bikes more approachable and accessible.
Programs like the NBDA Supplier Excellence Awards highlight the brands that are investing in those relationships and listening to feedback from the people who interact with riders every day.
Looking Ahead
As the eBike category continues to grow, the partnership between manufacturers and independent retailers remains a key part of the riding experience.
Bike shops help riders discover new possibilities, learn about evolving technology, and build the confidence that comes from having a trusted place to turn for service and advice.
Earning Platinum status and Distinguished Supplier recognition in the 2026 NBDA SEA program marks an exciting milestone for Aventon — and reinforces the brand’s ongoing focus on building bikes, partnerships, and experiences that help more people get out and ride.
