change in socket size??

the original axle nut on my aventure took a 19 mm socket. these new ones have the same inner bore but are fitted to an 18 mm socket. I don't know why there is a change

Thank you for sharing your experience with us! It is completely understandable to be caught off guard when a replacement part requires a different tool size than the original factory hardware on your Aventure, especially when you are expecting a direct 19 mm swap.

Variations in outer nut sizing can occur between manufacturing changes depending on component sourcing updates especially when they are cross compatible with multiple bike models, even when the inner thread pitch and axle diameter remain identical.
